Ik ben, samen met mijn 4 vrienden, net terug
van een reis door Sumatra Het was een erg mooie reis van 28 dagen van Medan to Bakauheni - Bandar Lampung, van noord naar
zuid. We huurden een auto van Medan Rental Car – cv. Sumatra Exotica Rental car in Medan. We hebben veel interessante dingen meegemaakt tijdens de reis door Sumatra. Onze chauffeur, die tevens onze
gids was wist erg veel van de geschiedenis, de cultuur en de stammen van Sumatra, zodat we makkelijk in contact konden komen met de lokale bevolking. Om bij de afgelegen dorpen te kunnen komen,
adviseren wij anderen die ook naar Sumatra willen gaan een auto te huren bij ditzelfde bedrijf. Het is een klein bedrijfje met vriendelijke mensen en de chauffeur

Pour les futurs voyageurs a Sumatra – Quelques infos sur notre
periple de ces trois dernieres semanis.
Nous avions contacte sur une adresse trouvee
sur internet un certain Wanden Pasaribu (Iwan) pour nous servir de chauffeur.
Il nous atendait a L’Aerofort, et
ne nous quitte plus depuis. Il faut savoir qu’ici il ya une grave crise et tres pen de touristes.
Les sites a voir sont donc difficiles atrouver.
Il nous a amene dans des villages et sites inconnus du routard toujours en securite.
Il nous a reserve par mobile les Hotels
et Guides utiles pour nos excursions pedestres (Trek)
Les Indonesiens sont toujours souriants
et sympa. Pas de soucis particuliers pour la securite. Nous recommandons d’aller a Bukitlawang
Voir les orangs outangs et de faire un trek de deux jours (retour en rafting sympa)
Le Lac Toba est un lieu agreable, mais plus
encore Maninjau :Lac, ou il fait bon passer 2 ou 3 jours.
Iwan nous avait reserve des hotels a des
prix negocies impossible pour lestouristes.
Nous partons a Siberut avec un Guide recommande
aussi par Iwan qui nous a fait gagner beaucoup de temps.
Au retour 3 jours au Golf (toujours a prix
Discount avec Iwan) et trois jour sur Pagang Island (25 % Discount par rapport aux agencies locale
grace a Iwan)

Je hebt gelijk, dat het moeilijk is om een
goed(schone) damestoilet te vinden gedurende de rit door Sumatra.
Gelukkig hebben we een pientere chauffeur,
die daar voor kan zorgen.
Zoals een toilet bij een telefoon shop,
kantoor, een eethuis of overheidgebouw. Het is misschien wel wat verder maar altijd beter dan een openbaar toilet bij een
benzinepompstation.
De wegen van Medan naar Bakauheni zijn inderdaad
niet zo goed en vol met gaten, vooral vanaf Padang naar Zuid-Sumatra.
Ons excuus voor het huren van een auto ipv
het gebruiken van een openbaar vervoer.Reden hiervan is, dat je met een auto kan stoppen waar je wilt.
Het huren van een auto in Medan kost € 60 inclusief
brandstof+accommodatie/eten voor de chauffeur.
Parkeergelden/ferry(oversteek)kosten apart
te betalen.

We are just coming back from 4 weeks in
sumatra where we travelled with Iwan (for 60 euro/day you have a car, driver, accommodation and insurance included) Iwan is
a great man who knows every nook and corner of the Island – even places not mentioned in guidebook, he is very serious

We went trekking near Bukik lawang (where
we saw orang outans) then in Brastagi (where there are volcanoes), in the Battak
country (where we saw traditional dances, weaving typical villages and palace) then we went to lake Tobba and around Bukiktinggi
we saw hotsprings, the harau valley, Minangkabau villages and traditional crafts, paddies, maninjau lake, great fun and great
food.
Then we went to siberut to meet mentawaian
people with Guru, a guide recommended by Iwan, Guru is a very literate and cultivated man who can speak the mentawaian language
and thanks to whom we had the perfect conditions to meet the mentawaian.
Finally Iwan recommended Pagang Island where we were alone
with our young cook and where there were beautiful white sandy beaches, coconut trees, blue lagoon, fish and turtles. It was
a wonderful journey, Thanks to Mr Iwan PASARIBU to whom I am very grateful.
